ReplyDeletelute olson - made arizona an upper echelon team every single year
ReplyDeletecharles barkley - the funnest basketball personality ever, took the suns to the finals and won an mvp
randy johnson - the dbacks first superstar, won 4 cy youngs, was co-mvp of the LCS, and threw a perfect game
adrian wilson - the anchor of the cardinals, the only perennial pro-bowl defender on the team, declined more lucrative offers from other teams to stay with the cards
honorable mention:
larry fitzgerald - great cards wr but has only been with the team for 5 years (will probably bump off wilson when it's all said and done)
steve nash - 2 time nba mvp, made the suns fun to watch and defense irrelevent
al mccoy - not an athlete, but is the best sportscaster ever...... ever.
luis gonzalez - the dback's kurt warner, great stats and all around good guy, had the game winning hit against mariano "the hammer of god" rivera
keith tkachuk - made hockey somewhat relevant in az before gretzky came here
hunkie cooper - the brian westbrook of arena football during his time with the rattlers, plus his name is "hunkie"
plop
ReplyDeletewell done jeremy and yes it is tough to bump hunkie
ReplyDeletepat tillman should probably be on the honorable mention list as well
ReplyDeleteApparently Glenn listens to the same sports talk programming that I listen to. This was the question on Tirico and Van Pelt last week.
ReplyDeleteBut it is a great question especially with the sports twist.
I think I would choose...
Lute Olson, Brandon Webb, Al McCoy, Larry Fitzgerald
My criteria was...
longevity
franchise-ness
importance
Arizona-ness
