Suns Shamed in NBA Promos

I was looking forward to watching the NBA playoffs this weekend because I figured that the Suns missing the playoffs meant that I could watch the games emotionally detached, purely focused on the artistry of the game. But apparently Robert Sarver pissed off the advertising team for the NBA because every commercial break contains a reminder of the Suns futility. Instead of relaxing and enjoying the games I find myself in the throws of post-traumatic stress. If you haven't seen all the commericals I am including three of them on this post. I will be watching the rest of the games with a paper bag next to me because you know it is a matter of time until they begin rolling the John Paxson shot.

Thank you to dizzle for reminding me to comment on this in the Nic Wise post.

  1. i was thinking about this, too, while i was watching the playoffs. when i first saw the clip of kobe burying that elbow jumper, i stood up and yelled "oh yeah? well who won that series?!!!? the f*cking suns did, that's who!" the suns would be western conference favorites, too, if us getting pau gasol meant giving memphis half an eaten slimjim and a 3 liter bottle of shasta. it felt weird yelling at my tv. maybe it was because i was in the bathroom pinching off a loaf. there was some intense splashback as a result of me standing up. what about when the suns had tim thomas and he was clutch against the clippers? or how nash was clutch in game 1 against the mavs three years ago. seriously. no love for the suns.
