It took the d-backs five series to finally win 2 of 3 (record 6-9, 4th in the NL West). Dan Haren had another immaculate performance on the mound and the d-backs got some late pinch hitting to take the lead and win the game yesterday against the Rockies. I am very worried about this d-backs team. They never seem to be able to match a good hitting day and a good pitching day. It is one or the other with this team and I think we could fade fast if we don't rectify this situation, especially given how well the dodgers are playing.
Is it my imagination or are the majority of our runs coming from pinch hitting opportunities? The d-backs are hitting .300 in pinch hitting duty and the rest of the time they are hitting .226 (ouch). Perhaps we should pinch hit every batter. Is there some way that we can get an exception and have unlimited substitutions throughout the game?
We should just tell all of our players that the first at bat they get is like a pinch hit, then they would be really confused and hit good.
