How far can the Suns go?

Talking with Phil on the flight back from Vegas our conversation drifted to the Phoenix Suns. He said that this was their final (and best chance) to win the NBA championship. I bold statement coming from the same guy that thinks Lebron will never win a championship and that America would never elect a black president.

Despite his pension for hyperbole I am beginning to agree with Phil on the Suns. Amare has been ridiculously good heading into his contract year. Last night's savage dunk was just the latest in a long line of incredible plays. Even more impressive has been the Suns bench which seems to expand the lead every time they head out on the court. In the past the Suns have been beaten inside by teams but I think we have two legit Centers with Lopez and Frye (Pac-10 pride).

Vegas says the Suns' chances of winning it all are 80-1 which is longer than Northern Iowa's odds were against Kansas.

What has to happen for the Suns to win it all?

  1. Whoever plays the Lakers has to injure Kobe and Gasol and whoever takes on the Mavs has to injure Dirk and Butler. And Carmelo needs to get hurt if we play the Nuggets. and that is just to get through the West.
