Clemson Tiger beats Wildcat and Sun Devil

I watched the majority of the US Open last week and unlike the majority of you I watched the monday round in my PJs with a pot of coffee. It was a tense and enjoyable finale, marked by futility and mistakes instead of excellent play. I have never been more confident in the claim that golf is the most difficult sport. Ricky Barnes (I call him Ricky Bobby aka shake-and-bake) the Arizona Wildcat choked big time and still had a chance to win toward the end. Mike Weir (funny name) and Hunter Mahan had all the opportunities to win. Mahan missed even more birdie putts than Tiger did (someone needs to head to Golf-and-Stuff). Mickelson, whom I don't route for on principle (stinking scum devil), was a sympathetic character because of his wife being in the hospital. Predictably, he collapsed at the end making a record 5 times that he has been the first loser. All of this futility left Glover alone to sternly finish off a two putt for the championship. Riveting stuff I hope you all watched it at work using Workspace Media.

  1. Don't worry, between the rain-outs and delays it was a riveting tournament! I think the oncoming darkness probably contributed to the futility. My Queer --erm Mike Weir is a very funny name.

On a side note, Oregon has now fully adopted those hideous winged jerseys they played in against the Cats earlier last year: Click to see the hideousness.
