So You're Telling Me There's A Chance...

I think we would all agree that the Cats don't deserve to go to the post-season. ASU proved yesterday that they are the best basketball team in Arizona as they dominated in the second half just like they have dominated us in the past 5 meetings. Harden got whatever he wanted around the hole. Glasser shredded the zone and hit wide open shooters Abbott and Kuksiks. The Devils looked more poised, aggressive and fluid.

On our end, Hill looked hurt but still got his double double. Wise looked terrific again. But Chase did his now too familiar disappearing act. When all three are not firing we are going to lose because we will be held in the 50s. We went 6 minutes without a field goal and missed 11 straight shots. Many of them were wide open threes or lay-ups from our best players. Were they tired? I don't think so. I think ASU just owns us.

But before you start telling Devil fans that UofA is now a football school (ask them how they enjoyed their bowl game this year). We may still be invited to the dance.

Our recent debacle has turned me into a conference championship junkie. I am routing for every top seed to sweep. But there are some teams that are making it more difficult to justify the Cats entrance.

Main Targets:

USC - We have similar records and they could win the Pac-10 tourney because it is played in LA. I will be routing hard for the Bruins this evening.

Penn St.- We have a similar RPI and key wins. We have got to get them to lose to Purdue this evening.

South Carolina - We can not have them advance in the SEC tourney any further. You should be routing for the MSU Bulldogs this evening.

Let me know if I should have my sites on any other bubble busting teams...
