UofA Sanctions

Brandon Jennings and Jeff Withey were the two stars of the Wildcats 2008 recruiting class. Unfortunately neither of them ever wore an Arizona uniform. As if that weren't insulting enough the Cats seem to have illegally recruited them.

I miss Olson but it really seems like the cheese was off his toast in his final years as Arizona head coach. According to this article by Steve Rivera he was being manipulated by one of the operators at GoAZCats.com. Olson, class act that he is, admitted to violating rules when he sent out a letter asking donors to support the GoAZCats.com tournament.

The fall out; 2 scholarships over the next two seasons and a reduction in recruiting visits. The coverage of the sanctions suggests that this violation will not hurt the Cats in the long run (we shall see). It also means that we must vacate the wins for the 2007-2008 season. During that season we won 19 games and lost to West Virginia in the tournament. If the games from that season never happened can I reclaim the money I lost on the Cats in Vegas that year?

My question to you friends, will these sanctions hurt the Cats?
